During my time at Studio Wise, we were contracted to design and build check out stations for the Kent District Library at it's East Grand Rapids branch. 

After an initial meeting with multiple library personnel, we became well versed on the needs for this check out station. And thus, a design brief came to fruition: a durable, solid surface counter; maple finish to match existing furniture; ADA accessible counter height; integrated cabinets with ventilation for computer unit; and provide keyboard & wire management access. From there, I produced some sketches and renderings, and brought material samples for a follow up meeting with the client. 

A major technical aspect of this project was integrating computer storage and ventilation within the cabinets below, all the while concealing them under the counter so as to not be visually distracting.
